About Random Percentage Generator

Generate random percentages within your own range and decimal precision, with instant statistics

What is it?

Our Random Percentage Generator produces random percentage values between a minimum and maximum you define, at the precision you need — whole numbers or up to three decimal places. What sets it apart from a plain number picker is the built-in analysis: every batch comes with its average, minimum, maximum, and total sum, each shown on a progress bar so you can see the spread at a glance. That makes it handy for modelling realistic metrics (conversion rates, test scores, battery levels), running quick probability demonstrations, or seeding dashboards and reports with believable percentage data.

How it works?

Set the Minimum and Maximum percentage to bound the range, then choose Decimal Places — 0 for whole percentages, or 1–3 for finer values like 47.5% or 12.625%. Pick how many to generate. Each value is drawn from a cryptographically secure random source and rounded to your chosen precision. Turn off 'Allow Duplicates' for a distinct set (the available unique values depend on your range and precision), enable 'Sort Results' to order them low-to-high, and read the average, min, max, and sum that are calculated automatically below the results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our random percentage generator

Yes. Enter any Minimum and Maximum percentage to bound the output — 0–100 for a full range, 0–5 for low conversion rates, or 90–100 to model near-complete progress. Values are drawn only within the range you set.

Choose from 0 to 3 decimal places: 0 gives whole percentages (47%), 1 gives tenths (47.5%), 2 gives hundredths (47.52%), and 3 gives thousandths (47.523%). Higher precision also increases how many unique values are possible.

After each generation the tool shows the average, minimum, maximum, and total sum of your percentages, each with a progress bar — so you can read the spread of the sample without doing the maths yourself.

With 'Allow Duplicates' off, every percentage in a batch is unique. The number you can generate without repeats depends on your range and precision — a tight range at 0 decimals has few unique values, while a wide range at 3 decimals has thousands.

No. Sorting only reorders the batch from lowest to highest percentage so the spread is easy to read. The actual values and the statistics stay the same.

Yes. Values come from your browser's cryptographically secure random source, then are rounded to your chosen precision — so each generation is fair, unpredictable, and independent of the last.

Tips & Best Practices

Pro tips to get the most out of this generator

Tune the range

Bound the min/max to model realistic metrics — 0–100 for scores, 0–5 for conversion rates.

Set decimal precision

Add decimals for fine-grained simulations, or keep whole numbers for clean dashboards.

Sort to spot spread

Enable sorting to quickly see distribution when sampling probabilities or test data.
